Orphanage wraps Navy Seals commercial

We just completed work on a Navy Seals commercial that I directed for Campbell-Ewald. Once it airs I'll make it available here. Shot on Panasonic Varicam, edited in Final Cut Pro HD in native DVCPROHD at Pictures in a Row in Los Angeles, all compositing and finishing done in After Effects at The Orphanage, SF.

Full details will be on the Orphanage Commercial Productions site soon.

I shot three spots in December and as a part of my plan to make this site more filmmaking-focussed, I'll post updates on these in the coming weeks.

Was this the commercial of the vanishing footprints on the beach? My sixteen-year-old saw that commercial and made a point to tell me how much he liked it. He hardly ever does that.

That's the one -- tell him thanks for me! I haven't seen it on air yet but I hear it's been playing, so with luck I can make it available online soon.

Very cool commercial. Any idea if there is a copy on the web? I work with some SEALS and they are eager to see it.

I've seen it several times while watching the Stanley Cup playoffs on OLN, and I loved it enough to google and end up here.

Good work!

My husband and I were speechless for a minute after we saw that commercial. We actually reversed the TiVo to see it in its entirety.

great job.

Great commercial - but it's best seen when you don't know what's coming. If this were not the case, the url would show up at the start. Is there a copy somewhere on the web that does not give away the punchline in advance? I found it at navy.com/seals and http://www.theorphanage.com/ocp/portfolio/recent/1169, but both of them (understandably) give away the punchline.
