NAB Pimpin'

When I'm not trying to distract whoever's holding the Red One prototypes with my patented "look, a blimp!" technique, I'll be pimping some goodies at NAB.

I've been working with Red Giant Software on the next generation of Magic Bullet tools. This is going to be a must-see. Red Giant's booth, Tuesday 4/17 10am and Wednesday 4/18 2pm.

I'll also be talking about The Orphanage's film effects work using Adobe After Effects, touching on my favorite topic: linear light compositing, at the Adobe booth. Tuesday 2pm, Wednesday 11am.

Awesome Stu. I'll definitely stop by for both presentations on Tuesday... that is if my feet ever come unglued from the Red booth. Will you be using the new AE CS3?

Sorry for posting here a cmpletely unrelated question... (actually two of them).

Since I am currently reading your DV Rebel book, I have to ask you what is the brand and model of your lightweight video tripod you use?

And what would you choose now, as an alternative?

Hope I won't get banned for shooting questions unrelated to posts :-)

Hey Stu!
Wish I could come to NAB so badly! Anyway, I wanted to share with you something I made that used the "Hanging Mini" technique from your great guide! Doesn't look as good as your heli, of course!

Hey Catalin,

There's nothing special about my cheap tripod—it's a http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00009RUCA?ie=UTF8&tag=prolost-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B00009RUCA" REL="nofollow">Vanguard, and the only important features it has are a fluid head, quick-release plate, ball level, and it was on sale. I used to have a wicked http://www.amazon.com/gp/search?ie=UTF8&keywords=bogen%20tripod&tag=prolost-20&index=photo&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325" REL="nofollow">Bogen, but I loaned it to someone and never saw it again.

This is the kind of thing we discuss routinely over at the Rebel Café—join the conversation if you like!

Cartasian:

Hey Stu! Is there anyway to watch what happenes at NAB while in Sweden? I'm really frustrated about this. If not, do you have any plans on getting some footage you'll share with us at the Rebel Café or ProLost? Would be awesome!

thx
