DV Rebel's fxguide

I love the fxguide podcast, and it seems that the feeling may be mutual. I had the pleasure of joining John Montgomery for my second interview on the podcast over the weekend, and the episode is now up. Wow i thought the orphanage used macs for using AE... From a compositing standpoint, what are the advantages of using either windows or mac?

All Windoze boxes for the compers and TDs. I guess one big advantage of using Macs would be that Shake is cheap as free on Mac, EOL as it may be. AE runs equally well on either OS. No Fusion on Mac, but NUKE runs very nicely on my MacBook Pro, no Boot Camp required!

I tried the demo out on my MBP, but I'm a novice at compositing so I had no idea what I was doing. I'm in the market for a strong workstation to takeover my laptop, but I don't really think it matters what os im running as long as I figure out the tools one way or another. However, that 8 core mac looks mighty nice, and with ae and its new multi coring thing (plus some extra memory) I think I have been persuaded to buy it...

Hi, I just now read about you and your book on fxblog, than I try to found short "The Last Birthday Card". IFilm helped me. I suggest you to look at mine short (really short ;) That was made in about one week for local one minute films festival. I think it's intersting coincidence about helicopters ;)

Thanks :) holes were painted in PhotoShop, than added debris in 3dsmax, composed in AFX.
