I am excited...

…about Scarlet.

Jim just posted this mock-up of a handheld configuration (the handle is meant to be an optional accesory), and I love it. It reminds me in a weird way of the Canon A1 Digital camcorder (there was not much digital about it, being a Hi8 camera). It had a vertical handgrip on the back like a big SLR, and it was the best camera I ever used for handheld work.

That is scary cool looking. That's Jim's master plan, sell Scarlet cheap and make mad profits on the must-have hand grip!

Ack! That's gorgeous.

Wow! I removed scarlet from my radar as they'll put it out when they're good and ready. Nice to see they're making advances, though reservations would be great. Stu- Thanks for posting so much in this past week!

Wow!
this is by far the best config i've seen yet for the Scarlet.
i know previously we were talking about focus/zoom-Ring/Controls and this looks awesome.

super smart and cant wait to get my hands on one.

I am curious about a "viewfinder/screen"
there has to be an easy way to have one built in without having to screw in or mount an lcd or something everytime you want to shoot.

i do like the A.B.C. assuming preset buttons on the grip.
also it looks like there is a FW800 port on the row of connectors.

all the dials and rings hopefully would allow for maybe config of operation like zoom or focus, etc...on the fly.

I'm excited too. I'll probably start out with the basic Scarlet, but, you have add all of the accessories ultimately. This camera is really be a catalyst for changing the landscape on content creation/acquisition.

@Wes Vasher
scarily true.

Hey Stu, I don't know if you noticed or not, but last night Jim Jannard posted on Scarlet User that says:

We have changed everything about Scarlet because the market has changed and we have discovered a lot of things in the process. We have a new vision.

Wipe you minds of the past announced Scarlet. Forget the design and forget the price. It is all different now. We think you will be surprised. Glad we didn't take any deposits... :-)

Jim
