Stu at NAB 2009

Photo by Mike Seymour of fxguide, fxphdI'll be at NAB this year, because if there's one thing I love more than conventions, it's Las Vegas.

Actually, I hate both with a passion, but since you wil be there, I'm braving the crowds and logo shirts to be on a panel moderated by Redrock Micro's Brian Valente:

Independent Filmmaking — A Million Dollar Look on a Thousand Dollar Budget: 2009 Edition

Monday April 20, from 11:30–12:30 in Room S222/S223.

I will be premiering my Stunt People short there, the one I shot on the 5D Mark II against my own advice. As my Twitter followers know, the short is called Chapter 12: After The Subway. As you may have guessed, it's my contribution to the proud subway short tradition, with a twist of course.

Cant wait to see the ATS short. Dont lose your pants in Vegas. Unless that's your thing.

Rodney's on the panel as well? Just as Jessica Alba And Jessica Biel and it would be my dream panel.

Be sure to ask the Red guys why they are there, but aren't - ask the Panasonic guys if the GH1 can do 1/48 shutter speed - and ask the Canon guys why they piss us off and yet tease us at the same time. Have fun out there!

Oh, and I can't wait to see the stunt short. Will you be posting it after NAB?

i am in a perpetual state of being either too busy to go, or to poor from not being busy enough

What a great meeting of minds. Hopefully someone will shoot the session and post it, would love to be there but what with it being like the other side of the planet and all. Rodney's a great guy and really on the bleeding edge of mainstream digital shooting with a great handle on workflow. Should be a cracker.

Glad you liked his interview on RedCentre easily one of the most fascinating people i've had the pleasure to chat with.

Do you have to register for the panel? I'll be there Monday and don't want to miss it.

I hope to see you there 5tu. A big fan of your book(s) and hope to catch some of your talk. Barring getting into the panel, will you be at the content creator's party etc?

I write about getting festival worthy output from a Canon Hv20 at the URL linked to my comment. A lot of wisdom I can attribute to ideas you presented. Have fun in Vegas.
