Red Giant, where I’ve been Chief Creative Officer for a couple of years now, but making filmmaking tools for you for 17 years, is merging with Maxon, makers of Cinema 4D.
From the Red Giant blog:
Hi folks — by now you’ve probably heard the news that Maxon and Red Giant are joining forces to become one company. This is a really exciting time. For years, Maxon and Red Giant have been connected on many levels — not just as a company, but as good friends who share similar philosophies about work, life and community. We hang out together at trade shows, support each other in our work, use each other’s software, and we’ve even collaborated on a short film together.
In 2020, we will go from being two separate companies — each with a serious passion for motion graphics and visual effects — to one team, united in our love of creating awesome, essential tools and who find constant delight in the amazing and unexpected things our community of users do with them. We genuinely cannot wait to begin working together to bring you new things that will blow your mind.
As a filmmaker, and a maker of tools for filmmakers, I’m very excited about what we’ll be able to do together.
